Our People

How we care / Our People

Our people define who we are as a company. For this reason, we strive to be a responsible employer that fosters a healthy working culture and promotes ethical business activities throughout the entire organisation. This involves building an inclusive culture and workplace at all of our offices, showrooms, and stores, running all of our locations responsibly, and reducing our plastic packaging use.

Inclusive Culture

We are committed to an equal and inclusive culture built on the right to equality and non-discrimination. An inclusive culture offers equal opportunities for all genders and backgrounds. We strive for a broad representation of skills, competencies, and identities on all business levels. Today women make up 86% of the Operations Group and 25% of the Management Board and we support the professional and personal development of all employees, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.

Responsible Stores & Offices

Our stores and offices play a key role in achieving our responsible ambitions and with more than 45 locations worldwide, reducing the impact of operating these is essential to bringing down our carbon footprint.

As a first step, we have converted to LED lighting and installed motion detectors in our Head Office, Warehouse, and retail locations. We are matching our remaining consumption in the Nordics with renewable energy production and are also working towards lowering the impact of outfitting our stores through repurposing furniture and interiors and buying second-hand. When adding new interiors, we use only certified materials such as FSC certified superior wood from sustainably managed forests in Austria and recycled wool fabrics from Danish KVADRAT.

Fair Working Conditions

We aim to have a stable and consolidated supplier network and prioritise long-term partnerships that make it easier to visit suppliers and manage production.

To ensure that fair working conditions are met across all suppliers, we require independent audits to be carried out at their production sites. We only accept internationally recognised standards such as BSCI, SMETA, WRAP, and SA 8000.

This allows us to assess their performance in terms of human rights, international labour standards, health and safety regulations, environmental protection, and business ethics. More than 80% of our production volume is covered by valid audits and we are working towards increasing this to 100% year-on-year.
